Kirk Christ: A Brief History - Canon Joe Heaton
The Parish of Rushen is located at the southernmost tip of the Isle of Man. Whilst other ecclesiastical parishes on the island have in recent years seen geographical changes to their boundaries, Rushen, as one of the ancient parishes on the island, still preserves its original boundary. A map dating from the 16th century shows Rushen Parish with Kirk Christ (the Parish Church) clearly marked.
Canon Joe Heaton has here compiled the most complete account of the history of the Parish Church to date. You will soon gain an appreciation of the huge changes that have occurred at this Manx Church. It is fair to say that the only constant from generation to generation (and indeed from century to century) is the ever-continuing change.
